M11 - Electron-phonon coupling in correlated quantum matter
Abstract
Correlatons in interacting quantum systems yield a variety of fascinatng new phases of mater, whose microscopic understanding and quanttatve predicton pose a tremendous challenge to many body theory. In partcular, the accurate descripton of the coupling between electronic and latce degrees of freedom, whose interplay with charge, spin, and orbital degrees of freedom can substantally afect the propertes of correlated quantum mater, is object of actve research. The Colloquium aims to advance the feld by gathering experts in many-body method developments to quanttatvely model electron-latce interactons in correlated electron systems both in ab-inito based model building and many-body methods for generic non-adiabatc and non local electron-phonon interactons, providing a descripton of electron-latce efects beyond the statc and semiclassical approach. We invite for contributons on the impact of phonons and latce distortons and their role in shaping phase diagrams, spectral and transport propertes, response functons, as well as the dynamics in correlated quantum matter.
This Mini-Colloquium is supported by the speakers of the SFB QUAST - we declare the Mini-Colloquium as a joint event.
